Knitters: I figured out how to knit with 2 circs today all by myself! The DPNs I had were pissing me off!
Blogging…
I figured out what I am going to enter in the fair. I can’t finish anything to save my life, so I am going to enter the advent calendar I knit for last Christmas.
I am working hard on a doll for Kandyce for her birthday next month. I am really enjoying it. I used new yarn for the body, but I am trying to keep it to stash yarn for the clothes.
Oregon State Fair
So, the fair is coming right up. I have until August 6 (probably until the 5th if I have to mail the application) to decide if I want to enter and until August 16th to knit. I have some gloves almost finished, that I could finish if I set my mind to it. If I could sew that *@$& zipper into Dad’s sweater, I could enter that. I have a curtain I wanted to enter, but that will take some work, and I don’t think I could pull that off. Plus, school is happing all through that time.
What to do, what to do??
Sign language
Kandyce can’t talk, yet. She is 19 months old and the doctor says she should have 8 words by now. I started teaching her sign language. Today she used it on her own to communicate. Once with me and once with a stranger. This makes me happy (her, too) but also a bit worried. I hope she will talk!
Socks…
I figured out why I dislike socks. It isn’t second sock syndrome (which I hate!). It is the fact that first the leg NEVER ends, then the foot NEVER ends, then just when you finish it, you have to start over with another leg and another foot!
The girls
The girls and I are together A LOT. So, of course, they get on my nerves a lot. Today I woke up crabby before having to spend time with them. We went to Safeway and Ayanna heard the people in the floral department blowing up balloons. Ayanna asked “what is that sound, Momma?” I told her we would go see. They watched the lady put the balloon on the thing then it blew up! Yeah!!! Then she gave each girl their own balloon. I, of course, did not have the camera with me to get their faces.
I feel if I write this down, I can refer back to it when I am grumpy at them.
WTF
Picture day for Malik’s soccer team. They took all the pics – three teams and all individuals in front of a VOLLEYBALL NET!!!!
Update
So, for the understatement of the century, I have some updates… A picture from March will be worth a thousand words.
